Orfilia

Each piece—cup, teapot, pitcher—is handcrafted, without the use of a potter's wheel, in an instinctive dialogue with the clay. I strive to capture that moment when the form seems to come alive, marked by a gesture, a subtle imperfection, or a breath of spontaneity.

My pieces are often asymmetrical, textured, and imbued with the inherent characteristics of the clay, which I embrace rather than attempt to conceal. They exist at the intersection of art and functionality: objects for drinking as much as objects for contemplation.

I use reactive glazes whose appearance varies according to the thickness of application and the texture of the clay. The surface features of the piece influence the flow and distribution of the glaze, revealing unexpected color effects or striking contrasts after firing.

Each object embodies an organic tension, a deliberate sense of fragility. It does not seek perfection, but rather, a profound sense of presence.
